** Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
** to join our Rheumatology team in Newport News, Virginia

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a supervising rheumatologist and a multidisciplinary care team to diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, lupus, and osteoporosis.
** Key Responsibilities**
* ** Patient Care:
** Conduct physical exams, review medical histories, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for rheumatologic conditions.
* ** Diagnostic Interpretation:
** Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays and bone density scans.
* ** Medical Management:
** Prescribe medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust treatment as needed.
* ** Procedures:
** Perform joint injections and aspirations, occasionally using ultrasound guidance.

Education:

** Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.

* Collaboration:

** Partner with rheumatologists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure continuity and quality of care.
* ** Documentation:
** Maintain accurate and timely records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
* ** Administrative Support:
** Assist with prior authorizations, infusion clinic management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
** Qualifications
* ** Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
* Licensure and certification as required by state and national standards.
* ** Prior clinical experience**, especially in primary care or chronic disease management, is highly beneficial.
* Proficiency in diagnostic interpretation and patient assessment.
* Strong communication and patient education skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
* Manual dexterity and coordination for performing procedures.
