Assistant Controller
Emerge is recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Assistant Controller job in Hampton on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturer of quality products. Our client offers a base pay rate of $130k-$135k per year plus a 10% bonus and excellent benefits starting on day one, growth opportunities, and a chance to make a real difference through accuracy, service, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities- Partner with plant leadership to analyze financial and operational performance (quality, productivity, inventory, profitability)
- Support monthly close, forecasting, annual planning, and daily performance reporting
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Coordinate capital appropriation requests and post-project reviews
- Support inventory control, physical counts, and cost accounting activities
- Maintain internal controls and ensure SOX and regulatory compliance
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience with cost accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong communication, business partnership, and problem‑solving skills
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
