Government Jobs - Part-Time Permanent - $21.63 - $23.09 Hourly The Transportation Officer maintains the safety and security of the inmate(s) who are transported while protecting the general public. Performs duties under the direct supervision of the Deputy of Court Services and is accountable for use of delegated authority. Pursuant to §53.1-29 of the Code of Virginia and Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and the Hampton Sheriffs Office, the incumbent must qualify to carry and use firearms.

Pursuant to §15.21603 of the Code of Virginia incumbent is appointed at-will and serves at the pleasure of the Sheriff.
