Sentara Careplex is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Oncology Unit.

Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. They provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. They observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing staff.

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• One of the following programs is acceptable for education:
  Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic), or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a RN, LPN, RT or PT program, or current work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Sentara Care Plex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is a 224-bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center.
