Position: Unix Administrator with Security Clearance
Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES
* Designs, configures, implements, and maintains UNIX hardware and operating system environments including AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris. Optimizes backup processes; optimizes disk space allocations; performs installations and upgrades; monitors and reviews logs; applies appropriate operating system security measures; designs and implements high availability solutions, and plans data migrations between systems.

* Provides technical expertise and assistance to team members as required. Monitors operating system, hardware, storage, and backup procedures. Determines execution and recovery times during disaster recovery and production environment testing, along with designing and implementing efficiency improvements.

* Engineers and implements redundant systems; develops and enforces policies, procedures, and tests for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.

* Participates in initial project analysis including feasibility studies, scope, timeline, task list, and duration of projects.

* Designs, implements, and performs UNIX authentication and security audits while providing solutions and remediation for identified discrepancies.

* Reviews real-time trending information, and contacts tiered support, when necessary.

* Maintains regular contact with users and supervisor/manager regarding status of open or pending service calls.

* Assesses and develops long- term strategic goals for production operating systems versions in conjunction with data owners. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Clearance
* Secret - IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) Critical Sensitive Clearance Certifications
* DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification
* COMPTIA Security+ CE

* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

* COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)

* Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Global Industriel Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)

* Global Information Assurance Certification (GAIC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

* Certified Network Defender (CND)

* Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

* Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.

* One of the following Google Cloud Platform:
* Google Associate Cloud Engineer

* Google Professional Cloud Architect

* One of the following Microsoft

Certifications:

* AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate

* CompTIA Linux +

* Linux Professional Institute Linux Essentials

* Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associates Experience
* Seven (7) years systems administration experience on UNIX operating systems AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX.

* Five (5) years of experience with Disaster recovery and data replication.

* Five (5) years hands-on troubleshooting, tuning and patching experience.

* Five (5) years administration, configuration and troubleshooting experience with UNIX Server Cluster, Load Balancing and Virtualization. Desired Experience and Skills
* Five (5) years hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions.

* Extensive hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and newer.

* Hands-on experience with commercial cloud provider hosting solutions (i.e. Google, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OCI) and associated relevant industry certifications.

* Expertise in scripting languages such as Hashi Corp Configuration Language (HCL) Bash and Python to support IaC and administrative tasks.

* Experience implementing and sustaining Automation capabilities utilizing solutions such as Ansible and Puppet.

* Expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex performance issues related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, and networking.

* Proficient implementing and maintaining DoD security compliance including server hardening, applying DISA STIGs, patching, and auditing.

* Experience designing and architecting enterprise level solutions across both Windows and Linux environments.

* Proficiency and understanding of network fundamentals, VPNs, firewalls, and remote access solutions, and being fully competent to configure network settings.

* Has demonstrated strong communication and collaborations skills that shows ability to perform in high pressure situations and has experience handling critical business incidents in professional manner with adaptability and resilience to unexpected challenges both calmly and efficiently.
