Job Overview TE Connectivity's Assembly Operator II is responsible for assembling and testing electronic and mechanical components in accordance with standardized work instructions, manufacturing drawings, and operating procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Must be able to work First shift 6am-2:30pm M-F
- Assemble components following standardized work instructions and top/sub-level assembly drawings
- Test electronic and mechanical parts and assemblies with a focus on precision and quality
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Operator Method Sheets (OMS)
- Perform precision soldering of small parts and wires with consistent quality standards
- Operate microscopes for extended periods to complete fine-detailed assembly tasks
- Use small hand tools to complete intricate assembly operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas according to 5S standards
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and work direction
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader
- Work on varied and semi-routine tasks; overtime may be required based on production needs
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated soldering experience - manufacturing soldering proficiency is REQUIRED
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination for precision assembly of electronic/mechanical components
- Proficient microscope operation skills for detailed inspection and assembly work
- Proven reliability with consistent attendance and performance standards
- Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8+ hours) while maintaining focus and precision
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience with soldering and assembly components (MANDATORY)
- Degree or certification as a Mechatronics/electronics technician preferre
- Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing drawings and S.O.Ps/OMS
- Comply with applicable quality assurance standards
- Experience working with small electronic components and fine assembly work
- Extended sitting periods required - employee must maintain comfort and precision while seated for majority of shift
- Regularly required to use hands to find, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, or crouch when transitioning between workstations
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision for detailed microscope work and precision assembly
- 2+ years of manufacturing soldering experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of reliability and consistent performance
- Experience with quality control and inspection processes
- Familiarity with electronic components and circuit assembly
