Schedule: 4:30 am – 11:00 am, PRN, Weekends & Holidays

Pay: $24.62/hr + $2.50 Shift Differential (evenings, overnights, weekends)

Since 1971, Hampton‑Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high‑quality, essential, community‑based services to residents of the Peninsula who are living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.

As a part‑time Psychiatric Care LPN, you will support our staff psychiatrist in prescribing, administering, and monitoring medications for clients. You will conduct routine physical and mental health nursing assessments, provide supportive counseling, monitor medical needs, and administer methadone as necessary. You will also conduct intake and follow‑up interviews, complete physical evaluations, perform drug and TB testing, maintain detailed and accurate documentation, and manage the secure storage, handling, and disposal of medications to ensure a safe care environment.

• Current and valid Virginia State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) issued by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
• At least one year of experience in medication administration, with experience in substance abuse treatment, psychiatric care, or long‑term care settings involving narcotic dispensing.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency with relevant software for accurate record‑keeping.

Applicants must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, child registry search, drug screening test, and employment reference checks.

• Current and valid State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
• One year of experience in administration of medication or in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long‑term care facility, including narcotic dispensing.
• Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
