$2.50 shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends

Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00pm - 7:30am

At Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, we are seeking a Full‑Time Psychiatric Care Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team at the Regional Crisis Stabilization Center (RCSC) in Hampton, VA. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a staff psychiatrist to assist with the prescription, administration, and monitoring of client medications.
  • Conduct in‑depth assessments to determine the appropriate medical and nursing care for each individual.
  • Develop and evaluate individualized treatment plans, ensuring safe and accurate medication management.
  • Coordinate medical services, including referrals, transportation, and medical appointments.
  • Provide supportive counseling to clients and families, and offer crisis intervention and emergency services when necessary.
Qualifications
  • RN License issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • At least one year of behavioral health experience.
  • Willingness to register as a QMHP‑A trainee within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
