Full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working overnight shift (11:00 pm – 7:30 am, rotating weekends) at Hampton‑Newport News Community Services Board.
Annual salary $51,253 plus $2.50 /hour shift differential and a $2,000 sign‑on bonus. Includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Paid Time Off, Employee Discounts, and Virginia Retirement System.
We seek a compassionate LPN to support our staff psychiatrist in medication administration, client assessment, counseling, and documentation. You will assess clients’ physical and mental health, administer methadone when required, conduct intake and follow‑up interviews, perform drug and TB testing, and maintain accurate records.
- Support client health by conducting routine physical and mental health nursing assessments.
- Administer and monitor medications, including methadone, ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal.
- Provide supportive counseling and monitor medical needs.
- Conduct intake and follow‑up interviews, complete physical assessments, perform drug and TB testing.
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation.
Requirements:
- Current, valid Virginia state licensure as an LPN.
- Minimum one year experience in medication administration, preferably in substance abuse, psychiatric, or long‑term care settings.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with relevant electronic health record software.
- Background checks including criminal history, DMV record, child registry, drug screening, and reference checks.
