US Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management service company, is seeking an Electrician to work on one of our projects in Southeast Virginia. The qualified applicant will be responsible for preventive maintenance, installation and repair of electrical/mechanical and digital tunnel and bridge systems equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical components and systems.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics; diagnose causes of electrical problems.
- Maintain electrical wiring systems and components in accordance with the National Electrical Code and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical components; operate tools and equipment safely; assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; estimate cost, time and materials.
- Inspect electrical systems and components for condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance actions.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate and repair electrical malfunctions using test instruments.
- Maintain, test and repair electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan layouts and wiring of installations under lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Fabricate electrical parts and inspect completed work for conformance with specifications and safety codes and regulations.
- Inspect work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop.
- Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment; use electrical schematics, diagrams and specifications.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems under lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Analyze electrical plant operating characteristics and recommend corrective actions; respond safely to emergency situations.
- Experience in or knowledge of traffic monitoring and control systems.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; operate a bucket truck.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
- High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Flexible schedule (relates to a 24/7/365 operating environment).
- 90-day probation period.
- VDOT industry training.
- Significant all-season/all-hour operating conditions.
- May be subject to short or no-notice work assignments.
- Work is primarily outside along interstate highways requiring safety precautions when working with electricity in and alongside traffic.
- Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with potential short or no-notice assignments and exposure to inclement weather.
- Informal work environment with team and autonomy, routine tasks with variable pace and pressure.
- Weekend, evening, and overtime work may be required. Physical activities include standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing.
- Performance monitored with routine evaluation.
- A fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) will be conducted prior to employment.
- Drug screening will be conducted prior to employment.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Virginia Driver’s License in good standing.
- $20.00 - $27.85 hourly

Note: This position is designed as essential and, as such, all duties associated with this job are required during emergency situations which may include inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations. VDOT/Project Management will determine when essential positions are required.
