Heavy Equipment Road Mechanic - Hampton
Major Role andPurpose:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to diagnose and repair heavy highway equipment and maintenance issues.
Description of Duties:- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Perform field repairs and overhaul of the various heavy highway equipment.
- Test equipment following repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with operating specifications.
- Perform the necessary field preventive maintenance practices to increase the service life of the equipment.
- Notify the Shop Foreman when problems arise, especially when delays involve moving equipment.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with heavy equipment preferred.
- Effective communication and organization skills.
- Diagnose and repair heavy highway equipment.
- Able to perform repairs in accordance with OSHA safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
- Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Overtime work is required.
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
