What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Provide advanced technical grants accounting support, including budget creation and complex financial inquiries
  • Complete grant reports, fiscal spreadsheets, and conduct reconciliations
  • Monitor and maintain financial transactions for various grants funded by federal, state, and local sources
  • Track revenues and expenditures by funding source and process accounting adjustments
  • Collaborate with management and staff to create contract modifications and ensure compliance
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Four years of progressive accounting experience preferred, with at least two years in grant accounting
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting applications
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and prepare written reports
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding of social service programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Previous experience working with community-based nonprofits and public entities
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, including HIPAA and OMB circulars
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with local government operations and BARS (Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System)
