What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Manage operations and maintenance oversight of On-site Septic systems and Drinking Water systems
  • Lead and supervise staff in the Environmental Resource Protection Program
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies to address environmental and health protection needs
  • Manage program budget preparation, administration, and expenditures
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain effective communication and relationships
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in public health, environmental science, environmental health, or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of related experience, including supervision
  • Experience working with the public or customers explaining environmental or health protection requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and address cultural competency
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Registration as a Sanitarian is preferred but not required
  • Understanding of local, State, and federal laws regarding On-Site Septic Systems and Drinking Water Systems
  • Experience in program performance evaluation through the lens of racial equity
  • Leadership experience in coaching, professional development, and performance management
  • Interest in continuous improvement and adapting to changes in technology and environment
