Position SummaryMarine Technicians at One Water Marine are responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations on a variety of watercraft in an accurate and timely manner. They play a critical role in ensuring that all boats and marine equipment are in excellent working condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on a variety of boats in a timely, competent, and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as parts & service, to ensure all customer concerns are prioritized and addressed appropriately.
- Accurately document all service work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and other important details, and provide customers with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure all boats are handled with care before, during, and after service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and follow all safety protocols to promote a safe working environment.
- Attend applicable service schools to maintain certification and continuous educational requirements; stay updated on trends, tools, and technologies related to work.
- Assist with special work events as needed (e.g., boat shows).
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a marine technician or similar role preferred.
- Marine Technician certification(s) is a plus (manufacturer certification—Boat or Engine).
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Solid understanding of marine systems, marine tools, and diagnostic equipment preferred.
Physical demands include remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods, repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, moving around to accomplish tasks, operating motor vehicles, communicating with others, assessing work accuracy, hearing, talking, seeing, and eye/hand/foot coordination. Employees may exert up to 20–50 pounds during light to medium work and up to 100 pounds or more during heavy work.
WorkEnvironment
The position operates in an indoor office environment with controlled temperatures. Environmental demands may include poor ventilation, hazardous conditions, small enclosed spaces, and noisy environments. Employees must adapt to office, parts, and service departments.
