Job Summary

Estimators are responsible for analyzing project plans, drawings, and specifications to provide accurate and competitive cost estimates. They play a critical role in supporting contractors, builders, and customers by ensuring timely, precise, and professional take-offs and proposals. Estimators are expected to maintain strong relationships with both customers and vendors while exemplifying the values of our business.

Responsibilities
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates.
  • Develop detailed material take-off lists for customer projects.
  • Provide timely, professional, and accurate quotes and sales proposals.
  • Collaborate with sales staff and management to ensure proposals meet customer needs while maintaining appropriate profit margins.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotes, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist customers, contractors, and builders in selecting cost-effective product options.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain up-to-date pricing and product information.
  • Stay current with local building codes, industry standards, and product specifications.
  • Attend training and industry events as needed to enhance knowledge.
  • Support sales staff by providing technical expertise and accurate pricing information.
  • Help identify potential project risks and propose solutions.
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure estimates translate smoothly into successful projects.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with both customers and vendors.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to meet deadlines and accuracy goals.
  • Proficiency in estimating software or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, materials, and terminology
