- Graduate of an ultrasonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), required, or
- Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in one or more of the three disciplines of the profession, or registry eligible, required. If registry eligible, must obtain a registry in one of the three disciplines within the first year of employment, required.
- Must be willing to obtain an additional registry each subsequent year until three registries are acquired, required.
- One year experience in ultrasound, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel.
- Knowledge of electrical and radiation hazards required.
- Capable of lifting and positioning patients and equipment.
- Position requires ability to walk frequently; stand and sit for prolonged periods, see objects closely; and hear normal sounds with background noises.
- Certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation required.
