Manager In Training - Fast Lane Convenience Store (Ralls/Marion County)
Location: Hannibal Area, MO
Base Pay Range$17.00/hr – $19.00/hr
Full‑time Co‑Manager position, eligible for benefits and bonuses.
Position OverviewSince opening in 1984, Shoe Sensation has focused on bringing America’s top footwear brands to growing communities in the Midwest and South. The Manager In Training is accountable for managing all day‑to‑day operations of an individual store to achieve targeted productivity, sales and profitability within approved merchandising and pricing policy. The role also includes ensuring customer service, store image, merchandise presentation and cost control to attain company objectives.
Hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating store personnel are critical aspects of this position, as are monitoring merchandise needs and inventory levels through communication with the Merchandise Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in all in‑store operations to drive and exceed sales, service and profitability objectives.
- Train and develop staff to meet sales goals.
- Meet or exceed company objectives in all measurable areas of the business.
- Supervise all in‑store operations to maintain sales, service and profitability objectives, while controlling shrinkage and operating costs.
- Maintain scheduling and payroll/selling cost at or below budget standards.
- Ensure the fiscal integrity of the store by accounting for all cash, merchandise, and other store assets.
- Maintain strong product knowledge for selling, merchandising, and providing feedback as requested.
- Adhere to visual guidelines, including proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness.
- Provide consistent assessment of each associate’s sales performance and work within the store to give feedback on strengths and opportunities, aligning with company objectives.
- Provide timely written associate evaluations.
- Responsible for setting up and executing all store events.
- Lead initiatives to give back to the local community.
- Ability to build and lead a team to make a positive impact on the business.
- Preferred 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Effective phone and verbal communication skills, including active listening.
- Basic knowledge of computers and other technology.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to multi‑task, set priorities and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
