Our client is a private equity sponsored pharmaceutical contract packaging company, which provides best-in-class quality and industry leading turnaround and service for Rx and OTC products to small and mid-sized businesses. Our client focuses on oral solid dose, including thermo and cold form blistering, bottling, cartooning, clinical packaging, stability packaging, specialized kitting, assembly, serialization, and secondary packaging.

The Director of Human Resources will lead our client's HR function to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business. This person proactively advises on HR best practices and takes a hands-on role regarding culture, talent, sustainability and day to day People operations and case work. This person will have a clear understanding of how the organization operates, its business requirements and commercial objectives.

The Director of HR will support the people management functions that underpin the business culture. The broad areas include employee matters, payroll, recruitment & selection, compensation and benefits, reward, professional growth, communications, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a one-stop shop to business leaders and provide people-related solutions to drive high performance in the department and to ensure exemplary customer service and professional responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with key management and provide strategic leadership and guidance regarding all human resource aspects of the company’s policies, objectives, and initiatives to build, develop and retain a diverse and highly qualified workforce.
  • Accomplish special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communication and coordinating requirements; evaluating optional courses of action and changing assumptions and direction.
  • Drive strategy and partner with the team to deliver results by providing expertise, guidance, and tactical execution in the areas of talent management, performance, career development, succession planning, compensation guidance, employee relations, employee retention, engagement, and leadership effectiveness issues.
  • Focus HR initiatives to meet operational goals and business objectives, managing the day-to-day HR activities.
  • Mentor, develop and coach staff providing guidance, leadership and coaching to achieve results.
  • Provide HR expertise to all levels of management and employees. Address root cause of issues and resolve through systematic and analytical approach, including investigations.
  • Lead with a “true hands-on” approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Ensure HR programs and plans are aligned to the business priorities and monitor effectiveness through the tracking of key metrics.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses human resources challenges and opportunities, which may affect the execution of the business plans.
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management, coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in daily operations.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all client, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Key Requirements
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-10 years related experience
    • Knowledge of various applications including, ADP Workforce Now, and HRIS systems.
    • Professional Proficiency:
      Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
    • High Reasoning:
      Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
    • High standard of written and oral communication with a variety of audiences.
    • Basic mathematical skills.
    • Intermediate Computer

      Skills:

      Ability to perform more complex computer tasks.
  • Preferred:
    • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
    • Ability to work independently and/or part of a team.
    • Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
    • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
    • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification.
