As a DB/SQL Engineer you will work closely with full stack developers, business analysts and QA analysts on features and watch them go from conception to deployment in weeks. You will be responsible for implementing database enhancements required to deliver committed customer project objectives, data migrations, and new program launches while ensuring data accuracy and data integrity. Among these projects will involve outbound data sharing with clients, hubs, data aggregator/analysis companies, payment processors.

This role has responsibility for developing and supporting database functionality in support of applications where a significant portion of the business logic is implemented in the underlying Postgre

SQL platform. These applications include front end customer service portals as well as numerous inbound and outbound data feeds. Deliverables will include tables and long & complex stored procedures, functions, views, and reports.

• Participate and contribute to the full project life cycle, including elaborating requirements, documenting system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support of applications relying on extensive in an extensive Postgres platform with numerous inbound and outbound data feeds.
• Participate in estimation of assigned work effort and be accountable for completion dates.
• Design and Internally document coded assets for better maintainability and extensibility.
• Document database structural design and data flows.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues.
• Support production releases.
• As needed, help and mentor more junior developers on implementation.
• Follow standard software development methodologies and Agile practices in a highly collaborative team environment to produce high quality applications in an efficient manner.
• Manage multiple project deliverables concurrently, communicate effectively with broad stakeholder communities, and maintain positive working relationship with teammates and customers.

• 4-7 years as database developer with strong SQL (stored procedures, functions, views, triggers), performance optimization, data modeling (OLTP / OLAP)
• 2-3 years implementing data migrations, data analytics platform hydration, or custom data pipelines
• 2-4 years PostgreSQL
• 1-3 years AWS RDS, Dynamo

• 2-3 years with GIT – source control, pull request, and release management

• Python, Java script or shell scripting
• AWS EC2, Glue, Event Bridge, Lambda, Step Functions, Cloud Watch
• Navigating Unix/Linux commands
• Agile (Kanban / Scrum) Experience
• ETL platform experience a small plus, e.g., AWS Glue, Talend

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an additional work experience in a software development role
