Strategy and Governance Chief of Staff - Director

Key Responsibilities- Drive the operating rhythm of the COO organization, setting agendas, actions, and governance processes to enable efficient and transparent decision‑making.
- Influence senior stakeholders across businesses, regions and functions, managing sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Bring order and structure to ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, anticipating needs, and ensuring the COO’s focus stays on what matters most.
- Provide commercial and operational insight grounded in banking, risk, finance or transformation, aligning issues with business performance goals.
- Lead or coordinate multi‑functional teams, driving cross‑departmental initiatives with accountability and follow‑through.
- Manage colleague engagement planning, communication channels and coordination across different departments and teams.
- Own key projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of senior executives, monitoring progress and providing regular updates.
- Improve operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Develop performance reporting for key metrics, providing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring against targets.
- Support senior leadership on resourcing, talent development and succession planning, including diversity initiatives.
- Support risk and control oversight, crisis management, contingency planning and business continuity.
- Implement a robust governance framework, preparing board materials, organising meetings and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Executive leadership experience, managing the operating rhythm of a COO organization.
- Strong influencing skills, adept at managing sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
- Exceptionally structured delivery and prioritisation, balancing ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Commercial and operational grounding in banking, risk, finance or transformation.
- Experience leading or coordinating multi‑functional teams and driving cross‑departmental initiatives.
