IT Solutions Sales Consultant

Preferred Business Systems is a New Jersey technology company that has helped local businesses for 29 years. Our IT division provides managed IT, cybersecurity through Cyber Riot, Microsoft 365, and business phone systems to small and mid-sized businesses. We're growing and looking for a true hunter who wants to go out, find new customers, and close deals.

This is a new business role. You'll own the full sales cycle from the first cold call to the signed agreement. You'll find the prospect, get in the door, learn about their technology problems, build the proposal, and close it. If you like talking to business owners, solving problems, and building a book of recurring revenue, this job is for you.

• Prospect every day by cold calling, emailing, and walking into businesses in your territory
• Knock on doors and build relationships with business owners, office managers, and decision makers
• Research companies and identify businesses with outdated phone systems, IT problems, security gaps, or unhappy IT providers
• Use Linked In, networking events, and referrals to build your pipeline
• Follow up on leads from our marketing and appointment-setting team and cross-sell to our existing copier customers

• Meet with prospects to learn how they handle IT, security, and phones today, and what it's costing them
• Review their current IT provider, phone carrier, and contracts to find savings and risks
• Work with our technical team on network assessments and security reviews
• Recommend the right mix of managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, and VoIP for their business

• Create professional proposals for monthly service agreements, phone systems, and projects
• Present pricing, handle objections, and negotiate terms
• Close the deal and get the service agreement signed
• Hand off to our onboarding team and stay involved to make sure the customer has a great experience

• Track all activity, meetings, and deals in our CRM
• Hit weekly activity goals for calls, door knocks, and appointments
• Meet monthly and quarterly targets for new recurring revenue

• 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience, with managed IT, VoIP, telecom, or technology services a strong plus
• A hunter mentality. You're comfortable cold calling and walking into a business you've never been to.
• Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close
• Comfortable explaining technology in plain language to non-technical business owners
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage your own schedule
• Technical certifications are not required, since our engineers back you up on every deal
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
