Position Purpose

The Program Coordinator (PC) supports the programmatic initiatives of Dartmouth Dialogues, advancing the College’s commitment to fostering open discourse, empathy, and understanding across differences. Working in partnership with the Executive Director, the PC contributes to the continued growth of Dartmouth Dialogues by planning and overseeing the implementation of signature programs that model respectful engagement and active listening. This position provides opportunities for student leadership development, facilitates educational trainings that build dialogue and communication skills, and strengthens collaboration across campus partners to cultivate a culture of inclusion, trust, and shared responsibility.

Key

Accountabilities
  • Program Implementation and Support:
    • Implements the digital badging model for students by collaborating with campus partners, reviewing peer models, establishing criteria, and designing a communications plan that reflects the program’s emphasis on dialogue, inclusion, and mutual understanding.
    • Designs and establishes the Dialogue Student Advisory Board, including position description, goal setting, scheduling, and management of the Board, cultivating an environment where members model active listening, empathy, and constructive exchange across differences.
    • Assists with program logistics, including scheduling and staffing events when needed, ensuring each gathering promotes relationship‑building, open discourse, and opportunities for participants to practice respectful dialogue.
  • Evaluation and Assessment:
    • Ensures programmatic evaluation in support of a comprehensive assessment plan that measures both outcomes and cultural impact, aligning findings with the initiative’s broader goal of strengthening campus dialogue and empathy.
    • Collaborates with faculty on data collection and organizes focus groups that invite diverse perspectives and encourage authentic feedback.
    • Assists with interpretation of assessment data and preparation of reports for presentations to leadership and external partners.
  • Administration:
    • Assists with creating, preparing, and editing presentations and publications that communicate the mission, values, and progress of Dartmouth Dialogues with clarity and inclusivity.
    • In collaboration with the Office of Communications, ensures that the website and events calendar are up to date and effectively convey opportunities for campus members to participate in programs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong written communication, organizational skills, and program planning experience
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively on multiple projects
  • Effective interpersonal skills for engaging students, faculty, and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and divisions to advance institutional goals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in student affairs or other educational environment
  • Experience building and managing external partnerships
