Position Purpose

The Substitute Assistant Teacher supports teachers with childcare responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Some experience working with children.
  • Completion of required training, including training in universal precautions.
  • Maintains pediatric First Aid/CPR training certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school graduate.
Key Accountabilities
  • Assists regular staff with childcare in a play‑based curriculum.
  • Works with children ranging from 6 weeks to 54 months.
  • Assists in supervising children, participating in play, and engaging children.
  • Participates in some light housekeeping.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and collegiality through actions, interactions, and communications appropriate to a welcoming environment for all.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
