The school serves approximately 350 students in grades six through eight. Richmond Middle School is among the highest performing middle schools in New Hampshire and was recently named a Blue Ribbon School.

The principal is responsible for the instructional leadership and day‑to‑day management of the school, the oversight of all 54 certified staff and 27 support staff members, the development and management of an operating budget of nearly $11 million, and the maintenance of the strong relationship between the school and the Hanover/Norwich community.
