Position PurposeThe Senior Director for Learning & Institutional Impact leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Dartmouth’s institutional learning and belonging strategy. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Inclusion and Strategic Engagement, this senior role drives the development of evidence-based training and curriculum, translates campus climate data into scalable programmatic interventions, and advances belonging initiatives for a large, diverse institutional audience across faculty, staff, and students.
The Senior Director exercises independent judgment, leads cross-functional problem-solving, and serves as a recognized subject-matter expert in inclusion learning, organizational assessment, and institutional change.

- Education and Yrs Exp Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Master’s degree plus 8 or more years’ progressively responsible experience, or PhD plus 6 or more years’ experience, in higher education, organizational development, adult learning, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated senior-level experience leading the design, implementation, and rigorous assessment of inclusion and belonging initiatives at an institutional scale, in close partnership with senior faculty, staff, and administrative leaders
- Deep knowledge of higher education structures, governance systems, and the organizational dynamics that shape inclusion and belonging efforts at research universities
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information and apply structured problem-solving to nuanced institutional challenges
- Advanced proficiency in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data—including campus climate survey data—to diagnose trends, evaluate program impact, and drive evidence-based strategic planning and institutional change
- Demonstrated experience with data-informed decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential data and information
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with all levels of faculty and staff and collaborate with groups representing diverse constituencies
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for independently leading faculty and staff teams and presenting to varied audiences
- Proficiency in written communication with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and meet deadlines while adapting to a rapidly changing organizational environment
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision and take initiative
