Summary
The Senior Business Data Analyst pulls information from multiple data sources across the School of Medicine and creates useful reports and other analysis to support financial management, forecasting, and strategic planning at the senior administration level. Additionally, they provide predictive modeling and forecasting data to support the mission of the School of Medicine and Tulane University Medical Group. They must effectively organize and combine data sets from multiple systems, using both Excel-based pivot tables and business intelligence reporting systems.
They must think critically and creatively to develop solutions to data questions and information problems presented by management. The Senior Business Data Analyst will also work with other university partners on projects intended to optimize the quality of data available for future reporting.
- Experience with sequel report writing software and/or a Business Intelligence tool such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; customer service focus
- Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data and to communicate those findings to support the business process needs of a complex administrative business system
- Knowledge of, respect for, and interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with those of different cultures, backgrounds, or learning/informational styles.
- Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience analyzing complex financial systems, or High School Diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience analyzing complex data systems.
- 3 years’ experience in corporate, healthcare administration, or higher education accounting/finance.
- Graduate level degree in accounting or finance.
