Responsibilities
River Oaks Hospital, located minutes outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed psychiatric facility that has provided quality treatment to individuals suffering from mental illness and/or addictive disorders since 1970. Situated on a 14-acre campus, inpatient services are available for adults and adolescents. We also offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults.
The New Orleans Institute provides specialized services for the treatment of trauma and compulsive behaviors. The Eating Disorders Treatment Center offers a comprehensive program for male and female adults with anorexia, bulimia, and related eating disorders. Both the New Orleans Institute and the Eating Disorders Treatment Center are nationally recognized for their excellence. These programs receive referrals from around the United States and are acknowledged as leading centers in their respective fields.
River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Collector who conducts various patient account duties while serving in the Patient Billing/Business Office, ensuring all insurance verifications are completed, ensuring all services are administered within hospital standards and guidelines; working cooperatively with other patient care personnel while maintaining a high level of quality service to all patients found within the scope of services.
Job Duties- Work collector list daily in addition to daily payment and adjustment report
- Work with payor websites, prepare paperwork for adjustments
- Collect and document patient responsibility in system
- Collect payments as needed
- Accepts calls from patients and insurance companies to resolve accounts
- Assists and/or provides documents or information to finalnical or third party payor auditors as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- High school diploma/equivalent required.
- Business related degree or some college courses preferred.
- Must have previous experience with insurance plans 1-3 years required, while working in hospital setting experience preferred.
- Must have good computer skills, organizational skills and the ability to set priorities.
- Experience with AS400, MIDAS and other software preferred.
- Candidate must have excellent communication skills; the ability to work with all levels of people and do so in a pleasant, customer service manner.
