Autonomous Specialists are essential to delivering safe autonomous driving systems, creating a revolutionary mobility experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety inside and outside the vehicle.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness and willingness to adjust to changing environments.
  • Communicate courteously with management, engineers, and the public.
  • Respond quickly to high‑pressure situations and operate a vehicle 6‑8 hours a day, up to 5 days a week.
  • Follow diagnostic guides to troubleshoot driver support modules and collect data from onboard systems.
  • Provide clear, concise verbal and written feedback on vehicle operations.
  • Manage vehicle security processes and complete daily reports and documentation.
  • Assist passengers, recover autonomous vehicles during vehicle recovery operations, and ensure safe operation in mixed‑mode scenarios.
  • Support software progress by testing new features, documenting bugs, and coordinating with operations supervisors.
  • Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to maintain accurate demonstration routes and best practices.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience on public roads.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. A four‑year college degree in a related field is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Parallel park with minimal assistance.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace apps, a laptop, and a touchscreen smartphone.
  • Type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to describe thoughts concisely.
  • Rapidly respond to multiple scenarios and adapt to new technology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and issue escalation skills.
  • Ability to multitask across multiple technologies and vehicle status systems.
  • Work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overd, weekends, and travel up to 20% of time.
  • Self‑motivated and demonstrate good judgment in fast‑paced, high‑stress environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Routine standing, walking, and long periods of sitting.
  • Use extremities to grip, handle, and talk or hear; clamp stairs or ladders.
  • Reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift and move up to 45 pounds repetitively.
  • Use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
  • Work outdoors or in a vehicle; exposure to inclement weather or extreme environments may occur.
  • Operate alternative modes of transportation such as a bicycle or scooter.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Driving record: no more than one point (California) or one non‑major moving violation in the prior three years.
  • Maintain a driving record that meets state AVT and other applicable regulations.
  • Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check; safety‑sensitive positions require a physical screening.
  • Work in the United States without restrictions; eligible for work at any time.
  • Provide documentation for all required licenses and certifications.
  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check. Safety sensitive positions will also be subject to a physical screening.

Drug‑Free Workplace
