Job Overview
Full-time TERM Elementary Intensive Core French Classroom Teacher with Core French teaching duties, St. Francis School, Harbour Grace. Duties commence September 8, 2026, until June 25, 2027, or until incumbent returns.
ResponsibilitiesAs a French second language teacher you will have a critical role in ensuring student achievement as specified in the curriculum guides of French programs. You are committed to furthering the goals for student success in an inclusive, safe and caring bilingual environment. You subscribe to a “students first” philosophy in your practice and believe that collaboration is key for your growth as an educator.

- Knowledge and experience in appropriate second language literacy development through a variety of differentiated strategies and resources.
- Bachelor of Education
- Primary/Elementary with a Minor in French (6 courses) - NL Teaching Certificate
- Level IV or higher - Minimum of B2 DELF Assessment (70% overall average with no less than 60% minimum in all 4 components)
- French First Language applicants may be considered equivalent
- Equivalencies will be considered
Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement.
Applicants without the required qualifications may be considered in accordance with Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement.
