Computer Studies Lecturer – GEDU Global Education

Salary: £55,000
Contract: Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week)
About the RoleWe are seeking lecturers to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of our BSc (Hons) Computing programme. Due to our delivery model, flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and at weekends is required.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
- Developing, updating, and improving course materials.
- Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials.
- Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties.
- Keeping up to date with latest developments in the field and student support practices.
- Working towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.
- Hold a master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable).
- Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area.
- Extensive knowledge of at least two of the following areas:
- Programming and software development
- Web development
- Database systems
- Cloud computing
- Networking
- Cybersecurity
- IoT and emerging technologies
- Business IT systems
- IT management
- AI and machine learning
- Operating systems
- UI/UX
- Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- Accurate reporting and thorough record keeping.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team‑working skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years), or Fellowship of HEA or international equivalent.
- Experience designing/developing academic or professional education programmes or equivalent.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
