Therapeutic Education Practitioner (TEP) Salary: £24,334 - £26,639 per annum

Hours:

37.5 per week, term-time only

Location:

East London

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Therapeutic Education Practitioner (TEP) to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. In this role, you will support pupils with social, emotional, and educational needs, helping them achieve their personal, academic, and therapeutic goals. You will work holistically, combining educational strategies with therapeutic support to foster resilience, responsibility, and self-confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Pupil Support

Deliver personalised educational activities that align with each pupil’s goals and support plans.
Work one-to-one or in small groups to provide emotional, behavioural, and academic support.
Encourage self-esteem, responsibility, and achievement through positive reinforcement and rewards.

Therapeutic & Pastoral Care

Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviours, and social challenges using therapeutic approaches.
Act as a trusted adult, supervising pupils during lessons, activities, and community engagements.
Collaborate with families, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.

Leadership & Development Opportunities

Create opportunities for pupils to develop leadership, independence, and resilience skills.
Guide pupils in taking responsibility for their learning and personal growth.

Safeguarding & Wellbeing

Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, responding promptly to any safeguarding concerns.
Promote pupils’ understanding of their rights and their entitlement to a safe and supportive environment.
Adhere to child protection and health & safety best practices at all times.

Planning, Monitoring & Reporting

Contribute to risk assessments, support plans, and behavioural contracts.
Monitor pupil progress, documenting achievements and areas for development.
Prepare reports for families and external agencies within specified deadlines.

Community & Therapeutic Engagement

Accompany pupils to therapy sessions and specialist interventions.
Liaise with external professionals to integrate therapeutic support into educational and social development.
