SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, flexible supply roles starting as soon as possible These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who are passionate about inclusive education and want to make a meaningful impact across different school settings. You’ll be working with a range of schools in and around Haringey, supporting pupils with special educational needs.
Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in mainstream or specialist settings
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Support pupils with personal care and mobility needs where required
Contribute to observations and progress tracking
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting
Understanding of EHCPs, differentiation, and inclusive practice
A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
