A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a structured and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.

Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom support.

Help students remain engaged in lessons and support them in accessing the curriculum.

Implement EHCP targets and behaviour strategies to support student progress.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to ensure students receive the appropriate support.

Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour in the classroom.

Requirements

Previous experience working with SEN students in a school setting.

A patient, supportive and proactive approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
