Behaviour Mentor - Haringey

Milk Education are working in partnership with a well‑established secondary school in Haringey to appoint a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students who require additional guidance with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in education. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Mentor looking to make a lasting impact within a diverse and inclusive school community.

The school is committed to ensuring pupils feel supported, respected and challenged to succeed both academically and personally.

The Role
  • Working closely with students who require additional behavioural and pastoral support
  • Acting as a Behaviour Mentor for pupils displaying challenging behaviours or barriers to learning
  • Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom to improve engagement and attainment
  • Delivering interventions focused on emotional regulation, confidence building and positive decision‑making
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and families to support student progress
  • Promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing school expectations consistently
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records of interventions and outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor
    , Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Learning Mentor
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
  • Resilient, patient and proactive approach
  • Passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers and succeed

The successful Behaviour Mentor will play a key role in helping students develop the confidence, resilience and self‑belief needed to thrive within school. You will work with pupils on both a 1:1 and small‑group basis, helping them manage challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
