Learning Support Assistant - Haringey

Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Haringey to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their support team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Learning Support Assistant who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers and the SEND department to provide tailored support for students with a range of learning needs. As a Learning Support Assistant
, you will play a key role in promoting inclusion, encouraging independence and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed both academically and socially.

The Role:
  • Working as a Learning Support Assistant to support students in lessons across a range of subjects
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Supporting students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Assisting teachers with differentiated learning activities and classroom resources
  • Encouraging positive engagement, participation and behaviour
  • Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and intervention programmes
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff and families
The Ideal Candidate :
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant
    , Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or Youth Worker
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care or community setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people
