Engage Education is recruiting enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to join a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Haringey from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, or individuals with childcare or youth work experience looking to make a real difference in education.

Working alongside experienced teachers, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and socially, helping them develop confidence and reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 within the classroom.
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and phonics.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support children with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in learning.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support children’s academic and personal development.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion throughout the school day.
We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, or similar setting is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
