Role Overview

We are currently recruiting an experienced Day Centre Support Worker to support adults with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Autism, and Challenging Behaviour.

This role involves delivering person-centred support throughout the day, both within the day centre and out in the community. You will engage service users in meaningful activities, promote independence through a learning-based approach, and ensure they have a positive and fulfilling experience while attending the centre.

The Day Centre offers a wide range of activity rooms and regularly organises community outings, making this a varied and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities

* Supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour

* Engaging service users in indoor and outdoor activities, including community access

* Promoting independence and life skills using a structured, learning-based approach

* Supporting service users with games, activities, and daily programmes

* Assisting with transferring service users from transport into the centre (Passenger Assistance Training Scheme certificate required)

* Providing personal care where required

* Maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment at all times

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

* Have a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities

* Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum Level 2 required)

* Have experience supporting individuals with Autism and/or Physical Disabilities

* Hold a valid DBS issued within the last 12 months

* Have a good standard of written and verbal English

* Be willing and able to provide personal care

* Demonstrate a strong understanding of Learning Disabilities with practical examples

Additional Information

If you have a DBS registered on the Update Service, we can offer work more quickly. You must be able to provide 5 years of references and have all mandatory training in date, or be willing to complete this prior to starting.
