Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83‑bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

• Assist in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care in the performance of all diagnostic X‑ray examinations and transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Explain diagnostic X‑ray procedures to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
• Perform diagnostic X‑ray examinations including routine, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical procedures.
• Ascertain appropriate radiographic parameters (e.g., MAS, KVP, positioning) and provide physician with a quality radiographic image.
• Document digital images with appropriate radiographic identification markers.
• Provide minimal nursing care to the patient, ensuring comfort; seek additional nursing or physician assistance when necessary.
• Enter and retrieve patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain department paperwork, verifying accuracy of information.
• Adhere to appropriate radiation safety, practicing the concept of ALARA.
• Ensure joint commission, local, state and federal accrediting and licensing bodies’ requirements are met.
• Perform quality control on equipment and notify management immediately of any potential malfunction or hazard.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R).
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT).
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
