Valley Baptist Physician Network is one of the largest multispecialty groups in South Texas, composed of 75+ providers, 15 Family Medicine Residents, and 100+ support staff across 19 clinic locations.

• DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center
• State of the art 14 bed Neuro ICU
• Clinic adjacent to Valley Baptist Hospital
• Work with Certified First Assists in OR
• One Neurosurgeon
• Two Endovascular Neurologists
• Two Neurohospitalists
• Outpatient Neurology (general, epilepsy, stroke)
• Two Physiatrists (IRU coverage)

This position carries privileges at Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen, a 586-bed Level II Trauma Center and regional leader in comprehensive care, with the potential for privileges at our sister facility in Brownsville. Serving South Texas for nearly 100 years, Valley Baptist offers cutting-edge neurosurgical technology, robust trauma and stroke programs, and a strong interdisciplinary team that includes neurointerventional and critical care support.

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one)

• Schedule:
  
  Approximately two clinic days per week (15-20 patients per day)
• OR Time:
  Surgery days as needed; block times available
• Call: 10 days per month of paid primary call plus 10 backup call days (backup rarely called in)
• Compensation:
  Paid call at $2,800 per day in addition to base salary and production bonuses
• Support Staff:
  Dedicated Certified First Assists in the OR
