Position: Universal Banker (Harlingen)

Universal Banker – Prime Lending

Prime Lending invites you to join our team as a Universal Banker. In this role you will serve both individuals and small businesses in our branch and community, providing expert advice on banking products, handling cash transactions, and building lasting client relationships.

The Universal Banker maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and services, offers personalized recommendations, and assists with all service‑related interactions—including cash handling. A passion for customer service and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential to delivering a positive experience.

Responsibilities

  • Practice excellent customer service, acknowledging customers promptly and maintaining a professional image in all interactions.
  • Establish new client relationships through the account opening process, uncovering potential multi‑product opportunities with a customer‑needs approach.
  • Explain various account options and services based on clients’ needs.
  • Maintain a conversational approach to uncover financial needs for relationship growth.
  • Follow up proactively with customers.
  • Review and explain required account documentation and complete the onboarding process.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the bank’s product suite.
  • Complete customer transactions, including cashing checks, receiving deposits, processing transfers, and handling loan payments.
  • Participate in team huddles, meetings, and fulfill assigned duties.
  • Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory practices.
  • Excel in the bank’s relationship management and customer service programs.
  • Respond to inquiries about bank products, services, and operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and fulfillment tasks for clients.
  • Complete all training requirements on time.
  • Engage in one‑on‑one coaching and feedback for personal and career growth.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent;
    Bachelor’s degree or some college credit is a plus.
  • Two or more years of relevant customer sales, service, or banking experience.
  • Previous cash‑handling experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the bank’s products and services.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn custom banking systems.
  • Good analytical, time‑management, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to multi‑task in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Self‑motivated, initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Team orientation and the ability to cooperate across the organization.
