This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis and at the unit level. It is responsible for supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated, and for supporting the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities- The RN provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with optimum care.
- Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime and administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
- Knows the hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
Preferred:
Recent acute care experience.
Required:
Licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law in the state of practice or policy; AHA BLS. If applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, also AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
