Scan Scape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).

Being a Retail Scan Associate offers an opportunity in retail, providing workplace independence, some flexibility in hours, and job consistency. There will be continuous physical activity throughout the workday shift.

• Visit designated stores weekly to scan all product barcodes on displays, aisles, and end caps.
• Use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in multiple locations within each store.
• Contribute data that is analyzed to improve the sales performance of products and retailers.
• Complete Display Scanning across the store on a weekly basis, which can take several hours.
• Assist with Custom Projects (additional product details) as requested by clients; these tasks occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to 2 hours per store.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines and maintain dependability and quality-driven work in exchange for the opportunity of independence and scheduling flexibility.

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store; ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend/stretch as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline-driven and a self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi and be tech savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).

We are hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Our store types include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores. We work with major brand retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Target, Albertsons, and other national chains, as well as small independent retailers. Retail Scan Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store.

This position estimates anywhere from 3 hours per week, for all stores, depending on store size and project requirements.

What does a Retail Scan Associate's week look like?

You will report to your store within the described deadline and complete Display Scanning across the entire store weekly, which can take several hours. Clients frequently request more specific details about products in main stocking locations; this is referred to as Custom Projects and occurs almost every week, adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store.
