About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bank Oncology Pharmacist to join our growing clinical team in Harlow. This hybrid role offers flexibility while allowing you to make a real impact within a highly skilled, supportive oncology pharmacy service.
You will play a key part in the safe and effective delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), supporting daily oncology operations and ensuring our patients receive exceptional, evidence‑based care.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Support- Provide specialist oncology pharmacy expertise and clinical leadership, including full clinical screening and verification of SACT prescriptions in line with GPhC
, BOPA and national oncology guidelines. - Offer timely clinical support to medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest standards of patient‑centred oncology care.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across Central Pharmacy operations, working closely with cross‑functional teams to support safe and efficient patient pathways.
- Support service development, maintain a well‑organised working environment, assist with colleague training/competency assessments, and contribute to business improvement projects and Key Value Drivers.
- Support the onboarding of new patients and services, develop prescription templates, and help create training and reference materials.
- Deliver both clinical and operational training to ensure the pharmacy team remains confident, capable and compliant.
- Ensure full compliance with SOPs, clinical governance expectations and best practices in oncology prescription processing.
- Work to regulatory standards including GPhC, RPSGB, GMP and MHRA requirements.
- Participate in audits and help maintain safe and high‑quality operational processes.

To succeed in this role, you will be a GPhC‑registered Pharmacist with solid oncology experience and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves regular clinical screening and verification, so strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus are essential. You will also bring excellent communication skills, a methodical working style, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
It is essential that candidates have completed or are working towards:
- BOPA SACT Passport – Level 2 A, B and C in solid tumours and haematology.
Qualifications, Training &
Experience:
- Experience working on Oncology wards
- Experience clinically screening SACT prescriptions
- IV Oncology experience
- Involvement in chemotherapy ordering
- Experience using/maintaining electronic prescribing systems (e.g., iQemo)
- Ideally a postgraduate qualification in Oncology
- Experience in clinical decision-making
- Experience training or upskilling pharmacy colleagues
