The role is accountable for engineering execution, software architecture governance, delivery performance, capability development, and the strategic direction of software technologies across the business. This position combines software delivery leadership, technical excellence, people development, and strategic capability growth within a complex, safety-critical operational environment. The role is based at Raytheon's Harlow facility and reports directly to the Head of Engineering for the ATMS Business.

• Managing the ATMS Software Engineering team across programmes, product developments and R&D activities.
• Providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development for software engineers.
• Leading preparation of technical proposals, software estimates, and technical responses to bids.
• Leading software architecture, design and development activities with internal and external partners.
• Driving Agile delivery, Dev Sec Ops  principles and CI/CD practices.
• Establishing software engineering standards, governance, and metrics.
• Leading software integration, verification, validation, and release activities.
• Collaborating with Systems Engineering, Test & Integration, Product Management and Cyber Security teams.
• Managing software quality, maintainability, technical debt and technical risk.
• Supporting software assurance, certification and accreditation activities.
• Defining software capability aspects of the ATMS technology and product roadmaps.
• Supporting recruitment, succession planning and capability development.

• Essential Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering or related discipline.
