Job Description – Salesperson / Store Driver
Entry‑level position supporting the DIY business and delivery of parts to commercial customers. The role may be part‑time or full‑time and requires fleet safety certification where applicable.
Primary Responsibilities – Salesperson- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store reach its sales objectives.
- Perform DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper blade installation, and other basic automotive services.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Handle inventory processes, including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.
- Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- Conduct general stocking, truck stocking, and back‑stock organization.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Safely deliver parts to customers.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers.
- Collect daily credit account payments.
- Maintain store cleanliness, similar to the salesperson role.
- Perform general stocking responsibilities.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board systems.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Strong safety knowledge and adherence to procedures.
- Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment.
- Knowledge of automotive systems and parts.
- Experience operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
Job Skills (Both Roles)
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus).
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Adaptable work schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends as required.
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, delivering superior customer experiences.
- Automotive parts experience preferred.
- Relevant certificates, licenses, and registrations.
- Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification.
The position requires walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds routinely, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Employees must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The job also involves exposures to mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily inside the store, with occasional outside work in various weather conditions. Tasks include installing batteries and wiper blades and handling mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical shock risk, and vibrations.
