As the Junior Mechanical Engineer for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the evolution of our next-generation products, services, and processes and work with a wide range of technologies to drive innovation. You will get to work on a team that keeps growing, innovating, and giving you room to be proactive, creative, and develop unique perspectives on how various services interact with each other.

Reporting to the Electromechanical Engineer
, you will be responsible for supporting the mechanical needs of the business by working on mechanical design, mechanical support needs, and mechanical projects.

What You Will Do…
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings and modify existing drawings using a 3D CAD program (Autodesk Inventor).
  • Work with a team on the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet customer needs, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Maintain and generate build instructions and documentation, including using a 3D CAD program (Autodesk Inventor).
  • Facilitate life cycle testing of new products, including design of test fixtures/test jigs, and provide detailed reports of results.
  • Assist with maintaining and providing triage for Engineering Change Requests.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for product prototypes and production.
  • Provide support to the Quality team with investigations and testing related to design issues.
  • Provide support and rapid response for mechanical engineering issues escalated to the team. This will include ‘hands‑on’ support, telephone & email support to multiple areas of the business.
  • Assist with prototype builds of pre‑production products, including production engineering review of new products and major product changes.
What We Expect Of You…
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 1‑3+ years of experience in product development or engineering.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience with CAD revision control systems, preferably Autodesk Vault Professional.

    Solid understanding of materials, product assembly, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal fabrication, extrusions, casting, molding, machining).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a detail‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience working using Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence / Jira.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electro/mechanical technical drawings.
