Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a growing organization in Pennsylvania. This onsite opportunity is a Long-term Contract position and is well suited for someone who enjoys managing high-volume payables work with accuracy and consistency. The person in this role will support day-to-day invoice handling, payment activity, and account coding while helping maintain efficient financial operations.

The assignment is expected to start as soon as possible and offers consistent hours.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices for completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before entering them into the payment workflow.

- Assign correct general ledger or cost codes to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded appropriately.

- Process accounts payable transactions in a timely manner while maintaining organized and up-to-date records.

- Prepare and support check run activities, helping ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules.

- Resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and vendors to clarify pricing, quantities, or missing details.

- Maintain accurate documentation for payments, invoice statuses, and related accounts payable activity.

- Assist with routine reconciliation and follow-up work to keep outstanding payables current and properly tracked. Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support position.

- Hands-on ability to process invoices accurately in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience coding invoices to the appropriate accounts or cost centers.

- Familiarity with check runs and standard payment processing procedures.

- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with financial data entry.

- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, managers, and internal stakeholders.

- Comfortable working onsite in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on a permanent schedule.
