Job Description
A well-established Philadelphia-based defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in Civil Rights and Municipal Liability matters to join its growing practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys complex litigation, meaningful legal issues, and working closely with experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and public officials in civil rights matters (including §1983 claims)
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and summary judgment
- Work directly with partners and clients on case strategy and litigation planning
- Appear in state and federal court
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Pennsylvania bar admission
- Prior experience with Civil Rights defense and/or Municipal Liability required
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Federal court experience preferred
- Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively with a team
