MS Assistant Theater Director

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Education. Endorsement in theatre preferred.

Experience:

One year theatre advisory/director experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. Some lifting up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Other Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in organization, public relations, and time management. Ability to perform basic math computations.

• Maintain an active dramatics program.
• Supervise and advise/direct at practice/rehearsal, performances, and competitions.
• Coordinate schedule for rehearsal and performances with Fine Arts & Activities Director.
• Responsible for the selection of plays performed.
• Oversee casting of parts.
• Coordinate the design, planning, requisitioning, and ordering of set, stage, prop, and costume materials.
• Assist the Fine Arts Director with budgeting and material requisition process.
• Maintain, issue, and inventories materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Coordinate fundraising activities with Fine Arts & Activities Directors.
• Responsible for the promotion of productions and competitions within the school and community.
• Operate within District policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
