Hy‑Vee, Inc. invites you to join our Bakery team as a Bakery Clerk.

Responsible for reviewing daily orders, preparing and replenishing bakery products in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner. Provide courteous customer service and maintain a positive company image.

• Deliver friendly customer service and greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Assist customers with locating products, securing items out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items.
• Review status and appearance of bakery products for freshness; review orders for the day.
• Takes customer orders at the bakery counter; runs registers and receives payment.
• Maintain sanitation procedures; ensure work area is clean and neat.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish bakery items; pull product from cooler/freezer for baking.
• Adhere to company policies and dress guidelines; report to work on time.

• Wash dishes as necessary.
• Order product and supplies as needed.
• Price products for customers as necessary.
• Deliver orders as needed.
• Assist in other areas of store as needed.
• Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.

• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions; basic math skills.
• Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Strong focus on teamwork and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Minimum 12th grade or equivalent; six months of relevant experience preferred.

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling for extended periods.

Store environment; exposure to flour dust, cleaning chemicals, electrical shock, temperature extremes.
